Easter Road Trip - Day 4
On Easter Sunday we drove out of Asti and visited Barolo, Bra, and Alba. Beautiful countryside, great wine and cheese and wonderful company.
The town of Barolo is sort of like heaven for me. We spent a couple hours over a great glass of wine and two massive plates of cheese and cured meats. The intention was just to have a little cheese to go with the wine and then find lunch elsewhere but when the plates arrived we looked at each other like, "oh dio!" apparently we don't speak Italian well enough to convey we wanted a snack for two not a meal for a family. We did our best to follow the "Wretched Excess" motto but I don't think we made it through it all.

After an espresso in Barolo, we headed to Bra where we stumbled upon the Banca del Vino, a "Wine Bank" where they sell and store some of the best wines (prices ranged from cheap to "good god!") from all over Italy. It was fun to have a look around and pretend to know what I was talking about.
